The Village of Sunbury, Ohio is now accepting applications for a full time Village Administrator. Sunbury is a growing community, with over 6,000 residents, located 25 miles north of Columbus in fast growing Delaware County. Sunbury is expected to be a City when the decennial census is received.
The Administrator is the chief administrative officer of Sunbury. The Administrator reports to the Council for the administration of all affairs of the Municipality placed in the Administrator’s charge by or under the Sunbury Charter, the legislation of Sunbury, and the applicable laws of the State of Ohio. A Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration or a closely related field is preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications and an excellent public benefits package is included. Sunbury, Ohio is seeking an energetic, detailed oriented and highly organized individual for the position of Administrative Staff- Clerk. The position reports to the Administrator and serves as a liaison to the Mayor, Council, Finance Director and staff. Responsibilities include maintaining records archives, processing records requests, maintaining the municipal web site, FaceBook page and calendar of events/reservations. Additional duties include attending, recording and preparing minutes of all Council and committee meetings.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be able to perform clerical, secretarial and administrative functions.
Ability to organize office operations and keep accurate and complete records of municipal government procedures.
Must possess general knowledge of municipal government.
Must demonstrate skills in typing, transcription, recording equipment, copiers, fax machines and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Must be able to learn new computer programs as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent with three (3) years relevant experience. A college degree in a related field is preferred.
Compensation Range: $18.00 - $23.55/ hr. with excellent benefits (starting range negotiable depending on experience)
Office Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (1/2 hr. lunch), 40 hrs. per week
