Plant Operator/Worker I

WWTP

 The City of Sunbury has an opportunity in our  Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) for the position of Plant Operator/Worker I:                         

The qualified applicant must have a Class B C.D.L., with some understanding of sanitary sewer systems and underground utilities. Duties will include working with the vac-con truck, grounds /building maintenance, checking lift stations, some lab duties. General knowledge of electricity /construction/Agriculture/Heavy equipment/ mechanical abilities, are helpful. The candidate will spend time at the wastewater plant and the collections system                                                                                                                                                                                           

This is an opportunity to grow and gain knowledge with a career in the wastewater field which could lead to testing for state certifications for the right candidate.                                                               
The work schedule is 40 hours per week and will include weekends; some holidays and emergency call ins as needed.                                                                                                                                                                                               
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent, Class B C.D.L.                                              

Compensation starts at $20.00 per hour with health insurance and Public Employee retirement system   

Experience in any of the above mentioned or closely related fields will be helpful

 Work Schedule: FULL-TIME-Five (5) days, forty (40) hours per week.  Shifts will include weekends to maintain plant coverage. Must be available for emergency call-ins including weekends/holidays and able to work in adverse weather conditions.
