Welcome

Welcome to Sunbury. We look forward to getting to know you.

Historic Charm & Rapid Growth

Sunbury, Ohio used to be a sleepy, little town in eastern Delaware County. Nearly doubling in size in the past 20 years, Sunbury passed 5,000 residents in 2020 and advanced from a Village to a City in 2021.

The historic district of Sunbury is anchored by the Town Hall built in 1868 which is located on a New England-styled traditional town square. Numerous businesses, restaurants and offices surround the square which creates a very walkable, friendly environment.

Major Employers

Sunbury is home to Hitachi Astemo which sits on 39 acres and employs over 700 employees. Another major employer is Ohashi Technica USA Manufacturing, Inc.. Both companies produce automotive parts for Honda of America.

Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial

Sunbury is also honored to have the Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial, a memorial that commemorates every Ohio soldier who has been reported dead or missing while at war since the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

We were chosen to be the home of the Memorial due to our proximity to Centerburg, Ohio (the geographical center of Ohio) and proximity to Interstate 71, a major highway connecting Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati.
